These are the students who interviewed faculty across the ONU campus. The assignment aimed to teach students some of the techniques that historians use - in this case oral history. They first interviewed each other to practice, and those recordings can be found here (Section 1), and here (Section 2)
Other Projects
We have digitized the documentary, Urban Turf and Ethnic Soul, about the Hungarian Community in Toledo's Birmingham neighborhood, and created under the leadership of Professor Andy Ludanyi. This project was originally recorded on Betamax, then transferred to DVD, and now it is on Youtube.
Dr. Ludanyi also gave a talk on the current European immigrant crisis. The recording, and a more complete written version can be found here.
Social Studies majors attended the 2016 Ohio Council for the Social Studies. Nate Bracy and Ryan Oberlin presented with Dr. Crawford, and the rest of the group helped make a digital history of the session.
We also collected several videos made in the past and featuring HPJ faculty and students.
This page contains information on various links, and is a handy repository of content that Dr. Crawford used to teach the class. It also contains links that will be helpful for Social Studies teachers.
Emily Mohr made this site that hosts the work we have done to gather and store student projects from Dr. Wilson's Historical Geography courses.
On March 17, we held Digital History Day to christen the program. Presenter included Dr. Jennifer Guiliano of IUPUI, Andrew McGregor of Purdue, Dr. Jimmy Wilson, and University Archivist Paul Logsdon, both from ONU.
We have a Social Studies major and a Public History/Museum Studies minor at ONU. These pages explain them in greater detail.
